Affiliate Disclosure

Rail Trail Life is a reader-supported blog. This page explains how I make money from the site and how that affects (and doesn’t affect) what I write.

Amazon Associates

Rail Trail Life is a participant in the Amazon Services LLC Associates Program, an affiliate advertising program designed to provide a means for sites to earn advertising fees by advertising and linking to Amazon.com.

As an Amazon Associate I earn from qualifying purchases.

That means some links on this site are affiliate links. If you click one and buy something on Amazon, I may earn a small commission. You don’t pay anything extra, and the price is the same as if you went to Amazon on your own.

My reviews are honest

  • I recommend products because I think they’re a good fit for rail trail riders, not because of what I might earn.
  • I’ll share the downsides as well as the upsides, even for products I like.
  • When a review is based on research, specs and other people’s testing rather than my own hands-on use, I’ll say so in the article.
  • No brand gets to approve or change what I write. If I’m ever sent a free product or paid for a post, I’ll say so clearly in that post.

Prices change

Prices and availability on Amazon and other stores change often, sometimes daily. Any price I mention is what I saw on the date I checked, and it may be different when you click through. The price shown on Amazon at the time of purchase is the one that applies.

Following FTC rules

I follow the U.S. Federal Trade Commission’s guidelines on endorsements and testimonials. That’s why posts with affiliate links include a short disclosure near the top, before the first link, and why this page exists.
